ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Field Organiser position will work closely with the Mandy for Richmond Team to recruit, and train accomplished teams of volunteers for the purpose of phone banking, door knocking, and other voter contact activities, and to direct the deployment those teams in the Federal election campaign.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Field Organiser will work closely with Lead Organiser to coordinate key voter contact strategies and help raise the Greens’ profile.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Recruit and train specialist teams for phone banking and door knocking in each electorate nominated by the campaign.
  2. Train teams to undertake engagement through the use of analytical tools to improve our ability to identify target demographic segments.
  3. Train teams to engage them in persuasive conversations.
  4. Develop and co-ordinate training materials for Field teams.
  5. Oversee the recording and management of the data collected as a result of field activities.
  6. Other duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

The Field Organiser must meet the following essential requirements:

  1. A commitment to advancing Greens policies and principles
  2. Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills and resilience.
  3. Experience developing and presenting training one-to-one and to groups.
  4. A good understanding of the importance of data management in campaigning.
  5. Experience in optimising large-scale organisational systems for non-technical users.
  6. Significant experience with contact databases.
  7. Experience working or volunteering to support an election, social justice, environment, and/ or community campaign.
  8. Advanced skills in MS Office, social media platforms.
  9. A Working With Children Check or a commitment to obtain one.
  10. A valid Australian Drivers License.

Note: Frequent evening and weekend work will be required. Travel within the electorate may be required.

Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.

PAY AND CONDITIONS 

  • Salary range: $71,079.44 to $82,987.96 FTE p.a. + 10.5% superannuation
  • Primary Location: The Richmond Electorate
  • Hours: 14
  • Status: Contract until one week after the federal election
  • Position begins: October 1, 2021
  • Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement
