We are seeking candidates for a part-time contract position. The role is ready for an immediate start. Fixed-term, part-time contract until June 30, 2022 with the possibility of extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE

GROW Australia is seeking a motivated Regional Program Worker to extend service delivery to rural and regional communities not previously accessing Grow services, through dedicated online groups for Queensland residents seeking support with their mental health. The role is focused on expanding the online Grow presence and initiating dedicated eGrow groups. As well as generating referrals from outreach activity in rural and regional Queensland. The role will also work with groups of volunteers and assist them in working through regional group issues so that the program can continue to flourish and grow throughout Queensland.

Primary functions include:

  • Supporting and developing the quality of existing Grow Groups
  • Developing opportunities to establish new Grow Groups
  • Undertaking outreach to promote local Grow Groups
  • Nurturing and empowering the leadership of members and volunteers and encouraging the ongoing growth of the GROW’s Caring and Sharing Community

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will need to identify with GROW’s philosophy, be self-motivated, flexible, energetic, team-spirited, and open to ongoing training.

You will be a caring and empathetic individual who understands the impact that poor mental health can have on a person’s life experience. Ideally, you will:

  • Understand the unique mental health challenges affecting rural and remote Queenslanders.
  • Have sound technological skills and feel comfortable supporting people in a digital format.
  • Feel comfortable working with those who have a lived experience of mental illness from a place of hope and strength
  • Recognise every person’s value and the contribution they can make to the recovery of themselves and others
  • Understand Recovery Frameworks
  • Understand peer support groups
  • Be able to contribute to building a community among established and new members through support groups, social activities, leadership develop meetings, and community weekends
