Havelock Housing Association was established in 1983 and is one of the ACT’s largest Community Housing Providers with over 400 tenancies across nearly 200 properties. Havelock Housing is also currently the largest provider of housing for people with a disability in the ACT.

Our mission is to deliver high quality homes for people on low incomes, people with high and complex support needs, and people with disabilities in the Canberra region.

Havelock Housing is entering a growth phase focussing on increasing the number of properties owned and under management for social and affordable homes in the ACT region.

The Role

The Deputy CEO (D/CEO) is a key central leadership role working in close collaboration with the CEO and Executive Team to deliver quality community housing, property and tenancy management and support services, community development, and the implementation of Havelock Housing’s strategy and stakeholder engagement. The D/CEO will help shape the future growth and evolution of the organisation, identifying and delivering new development projects, taking a lead role in key stakeholder engagement, and overseeing housing operations.

The areas of primary responsibility and leadership are:

  • Strategic housing initiatives, including SDA projects, property development, and commercial services
  • Business operations ensuring a high quality and client-centred housing services, quality management, and project management
  • Efficient and quality delivery of our property and tenancy management services
  • Strategic engagement, including government stakeholders, corporate partnerships, and communications in close collaboration with the Strategic Partnerships Manager.

The role also supports the CEO and Executive Team in:

  • Government relations
  • Regulatory compliance and corporate governance
  • Business development
  • Community development and support services.
