Hobsons Bay UP, Council’s Youth Services unit, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our youth counselling team. The role is responsible for the effective provision of intake, assessment and confidential generalist counselling for young people aged 12-25 years, and continually focuses on providing a service that is equitable, accessible and relevant to the needs of young people and their families.

Key functions of the role include:

• Provide accurate and appropriate information, support and referral to young people and their families
• Assess individual needs and develop appropriate strategies and implementations
• Work in consultation with key stakeholders in the provision of group education/workshops for young people and their families when required
• Work in accordance with the Hobsons Bay UP counselling and case management policies and procedures, including respecting and maintaining consumer rights and confidentiality of clients and agency matters.

You are:

• A passionate, qualified and experienced counsellor wanting to make a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years
• Able to manage a full caseload including intake, assessment and all reporting and legal requirements of the role
• Excited to be part of a broader youth services team and support, and be supported by, youth work professionals to deliver a broad range of services to young people.
