Health Consumers Queensland is the peak organisation representing the interests of health consumers and carers in the state and acts as an agent of change for consumer-centred health care.

Our Queensland-wide health consumer network is the beating heart of our organisation. Since 2008, we have worked to enable consumers, Queensland Health and the health system to partner effectively together and improve the health of all Queenslanders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager Engagement leads, shapes, and drives the development and implementation of Health Consumer Queensland’s core business. This multifaceted position leads the cultivation of strategic relationships with key stakeholders, the implementation of a wide range of consultation and engagement initiatives as well as supporting the CEO in management of HCQ’s core operations. This is a senior leadership role within HCQ and is responsible for leading and managing the Health Sector Engagement team.

ABOUT YOU

• Degree in Health Promotion, Social Science or other relevant qualification
• Demonstrated experience in consumer consultation and/or community engagement or related roles within the health and/or community and social services sector
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Queensland health system
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated leadership experience and project management skills with the ability to motivate, guide and inspire team members toward common objectives

We are a family-friendly workplace operating in a hybrid capacity with all staff working flexibly from the office in the CBD as well as working from home. This is a full-time permanent role but part-time applications will be considered.
