About the role

Working under the direction of the Queensland Team Lead and State / Territory Manager, the Be You Consultant will work to support schools and education systems to implement and embed the Be You Program.

You will support, coach and consult with school communities to plan for a whole school approach to mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention with the goal of improving outcomes for young people and their families.

You will provide considered, evidence-based support for schools to plan for, respond to and recover from a death by suicide, or attempt, impacting the school community.

Who we're looking for

headspace is seeking someone with:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in education or public health promotion, community development and/or mental health, or relevant allied health discipline including psychology (clinical, counselling and educational), mental health nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or counselling.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the school system.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with facilitating adult education.
