Tell me about the role

An exciting opportunity exists to work with the First Nations Wellbeing and Engagement team to implement and coordinate the Cultural Supervision Pilot Program to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Reporting to the National Manager, First Nations Wellbeing and Healing and working collaboratively with the wider First Nations Wellbeing and Engagement team, you will take the lead in the recruitment of key members to participate in the Cultural Supervision Pilot Program, while developing learning opportunities and working with external consultants to support in the development and implementation of Pilot resources with other representative bodies.

Who we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled project worker with a strong grasp of project management systems coupled with experience working in primary health/care and/or mental health settings. You will have demonstrated knowledge and understating of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and social and emotional wellbeing frameworks, with a proven track record in the successful delivery of culturally informed initiatives. You will be confident in making recommendations and in managing all aspects of a project in a fast-paced environment and will have experience supporting project development and delivery in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander policy, programs or services. Your exceptional interpersonal and communications skills will enable you to build effective relationships and strategic partnerships with government, non-government and community partners. Some interstate travel may be required.

As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, your cultural knowledge and expertise will be central to this role.

To be eligible for this position you must

  • Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, your cultural knowledge and expertise will be central to this role
  • Have the right to live and work in Australia
  • Have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent, and/or pass all of the WWCC(s) required for this role (please note that for some roles, headspace requires WWCCs for other State/Territories in addition to your Home State)
  • Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check
  • Have proof and be up to date with your Covid-19 vaccinations in accordance with the headspace COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy and any Government directives
