Tell me about the role…

An exciting full-time role exists for an energetic Education Professional to support primary and secondary schools through the implementation of the Be You Initiative.

headspace, as the implementation partner, works with Beyond Blue to deliver an interactive framework of evidenced-based information, professional advice and support to primary and secondary schools.

Who are we looking for?

headspace is seeking an engaging individual with significant experience in influencing change and working in collaborative partnerships with school leadership teams and/or education authorities.

Applications demonstrating experience with the implementation of mental health and wellbeing initiatives and with an applied understanding of youth mental health issues including suicide postvention, suicide and related behaviours and the impact of trauma on school communities will be highly valued.

The salary for this role is competitive and will be commensurate with skills and experience ($70,000 - $90,000) plus car allowance and generous salary packaging benefits. For information on salary packaging, please go to: https://www.smartsalary.com.au/.

This role requires intra state and interstate travel and is offered until 30 June 2023 in line with our funding term.

  1. What is your understanding of how mental health impacts young people and their learning?
  2. Describe your experience and/or understanding of a whole school approach to mental health in schools, spanning mental health promotion, prevention, early intervention and postvention.
  3. What are some key considerations in engaging schools in a mental health program, such as Be You? Drawing on your experience and/or observation describe some of the challenges and opportunities you might face.

To be eligible for this position you must have the right to live and work in Australia. A Working with Children Check (or State/Territory equivalent) and a Police Check are required for this position.
