What is eheadspace

eheadspace is one of the digital programs operating within headspace that provides nationwide mental health services to young people and their families through online and telephone support. eheadspace services operate 7 days per week, 365 days per year between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00am, and includes screening, assessment, delivery of brief psychological interventions, and information and referral to face to face services to and for young people from qualified mental health professionals.

Tell me about the role

The Senior Clinician involves being responsible for shift management, which includes the day to day running of the shift and delegation of tasks. The role involves providing clinical supervision to HS3 and HS4 clinicians to support their work with young people and their wellbeing.

The Senior Clinician will be adept in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and an experienced professional with advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of mental health and other related issues for young people.

The Senior Clinician supports the Leadership Team to shape a responsive and respectful workplace culture that integrates the headspace values.

Who are we looking for?

  • The successful incumbent has an approved tertiary qualification in one of the following allied health disciplines: Social Work, Psychology (clinical, counselling, and 4+2 or 5+1 pathway), Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Counselling, with eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body
  • At least 5 years' experience post qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to clinicians and students
  • You will be operating at an advanced level with respect to clinical skills in youth mental health utilising best practice models in addition to having developed a broad understanding of the mental health system in Australia, including the range of professionals that work within, or come into contact with the mental health sector
  • You bring to the role highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to interact with a diverse range of people, including, young people, health professionals, academic researchers and service providers. You thrive in a dynamic, highly productive environment with time pressures, whilst managing multiple tasks
  • With a thorough commitment to participating in activities to support ongoing research and evaluation of the service, you will work as part of an energetic and supportive team to maintain a responsive and respectful workplace culture
  • Strong alignment with the values of the organisation

Based in the Melbourne CBD, we offer a competitive salary commensurate on years of clinical experience ($84,500 - $93,000), plus generous salary packaging benefits (up to $15,800). Working with Children Checks for all relevant States and Territories and a Police Check are required for this position.

Remuneration and Benefits include:

  • Day and Evening penalty rate - Monday-Friday- 25% additional casual loading
  • Weekend Shift penalty rate - Saturday-Sunday (day and night) - 75% additional loading
  • Public Holiday penalty - 250% additional loading
  • In house Supervision is provided by Bouverie trained Senior Clinicians (non-disciplinary based)
  • In house Professional Development
  • A thorough and extensive orientation program is provided for all new eheadspace clinicians (8 days).
