About the role

Through the provision of expert guidance and leadership, this new and exciting position will drive the delivery of safe, holistic, and appropriate care to First Nations young people. Promoting the importance of Indigenous ways of doing, being and healing in the provision of culturally secure care, this role will be heavily involved in the development of mental health practice resources that will not only inform service delivery across the national headspace network, but will also grow the cultural capability of headspace clinicians.

This is a trusted advisory and advocacy role, where you will have both a strategic and operational impact, continually working to enhance clinical governance processes to ensure they are able to recognise the importance of culturally safe mental health care and leading the development and delivery of a Cultural Supervision model. This role truly presents an opportunity to make a difference to First Nations young people, families, and their communities, alongside a dedicated and expanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing & Engagement division with an exciting agenda ahead.

Who we're looking for

As a skilled mental health practitioner, you are adept in applying a clinical lens to the development and delivery of programs and resources, and you work collaboratively to enhance service outcomes. With a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the value of First Nations approaches to healing and wellbeing, you will be confident in making recommendations and leading projects in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will stand you in good stead to build meaningful and sustainable relationships at national, state, and regional levels. As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, your cultural and social awareness will be central to this role.
