What is headspace Schools :

headspace Schools, in Partnership with the Department of Education Queensland, provides state-wide support service specifically for primary and secondary school Principals, Deputy Principals and Heads of Campus who have managed a critical or complex incident or experience trauma within their school community.

Tell me about the role

  • The Principal Coaching Advisor will provide support to School Leaders in state schools across Queensland to support their wellbeing and help manage stress reactions which arise from critical incidents
  • You'll provide one on one support and will utilise strategies such as facilitated reflective practice and psychoeducation to assist with stress management.
  • Deliver training to leadership in order to build their capacity to respond to incidents in their school community.
  • This is a contract position until 30 June 2022.

Who we're looking for

headspace Schools is seeking a Social Worker or APHRA registered Psychologist who ;

  • Engaging and motivated and has demonstrated experience supporting individuals or communities in recovery/wellbeing post a critical incident or trauma.
  • Brings comprehensive knowledge of school environments
  • Strong communication and excellent stakeholder engagement
  • Experienced adult learning facilitator
  • Available to travel within Queensland and has a full license and vehicle.
