Tell me about the role

The Qld Principal Coaching and Support Service is offered to principals, deputy principals and school leaders in state schools to offer a non-judgmental, collegial space to support themselves, their staff and school during stressful times.

Reporting to the headspace Schools Program Manager, you will provide one on one support utilising strategies such as facilitated reflective practice and psychoeducation to assist with stress management, to support and maintain mental health and improve overall wellbeing for principals, deputy principals and school leaders.

The role also provides training to school leaders that increase knowledge and awareness of the potentially negative impact of traumatic incidents and strategies to support recovery.

Who are we looking for?

You are an engaging and motivated experienced clinician and facilitator individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and positive working relationships with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

You will have demonstrated experience delivering support programs for leaders or workforces to assist with recovery and/or wellbeing post trauma or critical incident. You will also have exceptional facilitation skills and experience in delivering workshops to school leadership, to support and maintain their mental health and overall wellbeing.

This role will require travel, therefore the incumbent must possess the willingness and capability to travel within Queensland regularly.

This role requires intra state and interstate travel and is offered until 30 June 2022 in line with our funding term.
