It can be difficult for consumers to navigate the Western Australian Health System, or to give feedback if they are unhappy with any aspect of their healthcare experience. HCC’s Individual Advocacy Service provides flexible, individualised support, including providing information about health rights, attending appointments with health consumers’, and assisting them to make a complaint.
The Health Consumers' Council of WA is an independent community-based organisation which was established in 1994, representing the consumer’s voice in health policy, planning, research, and service delivery. We stand for equitable, person-centred, quality healthcare for all West Australians.
The Health Consumers' Council (HCC) welcomes applications for the position of Information Advocacy Officer (IAO). The role will be based from HCC’s East Perth Office for 15 hours per week to be conducted on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The IAO is the first point of contact for enquiries to the Individual Advocacy Service. The IAO will conduct intake, information, system navigation, referral and non-complex advocacy. The IAO will refer complex issues to the Individual Advocacy Team.
Health Consumer’s Council is a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and identities.
As such, if you require any adjustments to submit your application, we invite you to get in touch with via email [email protected], using the subject line: Information Advocacy Officer enquiry via EthicalJobs.
