This charitable foundation understands and appreciates the importance of data.

Having experienced significant growth and an increase in fundraising revenue, they need a data champion. Someone to integrate, manage, analyse and report on various data sources.

This team is tackling one of the most critical public health challenges of our time.

They have big plans for the future (including advocacy, awareness and funding towards a cure), which means they need someone who can bring together data from various sources and enable effective data-driven decision making (including financial reporting and planning).

What you’ll be doing

Working as an advisor to the CEO, you will design, develop, and distribute data that provides insight into business performance and highlights opportunities to improve operations.

You’ll contribute to the design, development, and implementation of analytical approaches and methodologies which will shape the organisation and the impact it can have. You’ll also have input into the delivery mechanisms for data produced and be responsible for data quality and integrity.

You will enhance operational efficiency; revenue and organisation performance through effective use of data.

Ultimately, you’ll play a critical role in the future of this organisation and its impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project manage various data needs to enhance financial impact
  • Champion a culture of effective data management
  • Collate data from a range of sources to create clear reports to track income and expenses (with support of an external accountant)
  • Manage and improve existing reporting systems
  • Analyse, report and visualise data in a meaningful way
  • Translate data into actionable insights to drive organisational performance
  • Provide QA for all data produced and conduct data cleansing as required
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess fundraising and research initiatives, working with the team to identify key items and proposed actions

You will also:

  • Translate business needs into technical requirements, identifying technology gaps and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Collaborate with key partners, subject matter experts, non-technical stakeholders, technical resources and developers to define project scope and complete projects
  • Build project plans, user stores, requirements and flowcharts to ensure the quality of financial and customer data

About you

You’re a strong communicator with excellent organisational and project management skills.

A proactive self starter and problem solver with a can-do attitude, you’ll thrive in a small, high impact organisation, working with various different stakeholders.

You’re a fast learner, detail oriented and have advanced skills in Excel and MS Office.

We’d also love you to bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting in a financial context
  • Experience with data structures and reporting using Salesforce
  • An ability to effectively present data and financial impact using a range of reporting and visualisation tools
  • An ability to link diverse sources of information
  • Outstanding time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Sound financial/commercial acumen including knowledge of budget and financial statement reporting
  • Experience documenting key processes
