With over 900 employees, HELP achieves this purpose through core delivery of Employment, Disability Care and a portfolio of commercial products and services. Help Employment provides Disability Employment Services (DES) clients with the support, tools and confidence needed to enter or return to the workforce and achieve their career goals.  

We are currently seeking a Business Development professional to support our disability employment programs. This role develops and manages business development activities by supporting growth of the portfolio through the identification of key strategic partners and works in collaboration to provide employment opportunities for those living with disability.

The role is a key leadership role within our Business Development function and will assist our Head of Business Development in developing and delivering a business development strategy that will support longer term growth initiatives and results. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis with our head office located at Eagle Farm – a company vehicle is included with the role as travel around South-East Queensland will be required to perform this role successfully.

Your key responsibilities are: 

  • Lead our Business Development – Employment activities to deliver effective, strategically aligned activities that support sustainable growth of the portfolio and wider enterprise
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of disability employment programs and funding models to identify and develop a pipeline of potential employment opportunities
  • Build and nurture effective working relationships with existing customers and develop networks to grow relationships with local communities and organisations
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, transferring to the strategy of your portfolio
  • Manage our proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements and content creation
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, ensure opportunities align with strategies, and lead and facilitate growth activities
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the organisation
  • Support business development activity with commercial analysis incorporating pricing, margin and profit evaluation of new and existing opportunities
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations

About You

  • Prior Employment Services experience will be highly regarded
  • Proven ability to develop and foster corporate partnerships
  • Proven ability to negotiate and successfully sell a product or service to the business sector
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
  • Ability to understand government contracts
  • Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines and KPI’s
