For those affected by trauma, and those who support them, Hagar is an expert in care and recovery. When healing happens the cycle of trauma stops. Hagar, an international non-government agency implements programs to respond to the needs of traumatized women and children impacted by human trafficking, slavery and abuse. We deliver programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Singapore, and Vietnam, and through partner agencies in Myanmar and the Solomon Islands. Our work is supported by offices located globally, including New Zealand. 

Hagar International is seeking to appoint an experienced and talented individual to join our team as a Project Advisor in Honiara, the Solomon Islands. Reporting directly to the Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hagar International, the role of Project Advisor is critical to providing the Executive Director of Hagar’s project partner in Solomon Islands (Hope Trust), with the technical advice and support needed to successfully implement the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in New Zealand and TearFund New Zealand funded project, Preventing and Responding to Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse in the Solomon Islands. 

The Project Advisor will work closely with the Executive Director of Hope Trust, providing technical and strategic advisory inputs to ensure the implementation of a quality project. Simultaneously this role will support Hagar’s efforts to build Hope Trust’s organizational governance and operational capacity, and enable them to forge a leading role in the human trafficking and child sexual exploitation sectors in the Solomon Islands, and regionally. 

The successful applicant must have proven leadership, management experience, advising projects of a similar size and scope in developing countries. They must be willing and committed to living and working in the Solomon Islands.
