The Workforce team supports the definition and execution of Hireup’s long term vision and growth ambitions in relation to our support workers. Comprising three subteams, the Workforce Experience team is responsible for delivering all things people and culture to our national team of support workers.

The Support Worker People and Operations lead is a career-defining role and opportunity to leverage your significant HR experience operating within a fast-paced environment to make a real impact for thousands of support workers. You will shape strategies and implement plans and initiatives that are innovative, scalable and people-focused for our support worker workforce - overseeing issues resolution, learning and development, wellbeing, engagement, compliance plus ensuring our support worker policies, processes, systems are best-in-class.

Priorities - the work

  • As the point person for all things P&C (support worker workforce) at Hireup, you’ll couple strong technical knowledge and experience with a uniquely human-centred approach to advice and decision making.
  • Be responsible for the creation, coordination, implementation and continual improvement of the support worker experience from a P&C perspective.
  • Build a P&C function responsible for support workers with several direct reports.
  • Lead the organisation’s approach to Support Worker employee engagement, including measurement and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Build learning and development pathways to give depth and breadth to the Hireup support worker experience through consultation with our community
  • Encourage a diverse Support Worker workforce that best represents the community we serve, enabling us to unlock potential and grow our talent pool
  • Work with the trust and safety team to ensure that Hireup practices and initiatives are designed with the support worker experience prioritised (think safety, security, regulatory compliance).
  • Develop systems, processes and policies to deliver a great people experience and ensure compliance with all employment and social - including IR, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Share your knowledge and ideas across Hireup teams to help build a culture of innovation and excellence around the support worker experience.

Capabilities - the person

  • Substantial experience in a generalist HR role designing, implementing and improving a people & culture function.
  • Success and achievement delivering end-to-end a range of people initiatives
  • Experience delivering great employee experiences for large and geographically dispersed workforces preferred but not essential.
  • Leader who invests in developing and coaching team members.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment and social law requirements including experience working with awards / understanding and experience of industrial relations.
  • Confident and authentic leader, comfortable working with all levels of the organisation, able to build trust with the business
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, good listening and influencing skills
  • Have a strong connection to, or interest, in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community.
  • Experience with disability or care sector preferred but not essential
