Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) is a highly regarded Martu organisation that was established in 2005 to work with Martu to build strong, sustainable communities. Our vision is to:
To achieve these objectives we deliver an integrated suite of programs that provide significant social, cultural and economic benefits to Martu. All of our programs are based on Martu culture and priorities and aspirations to go back to country, to teach young people about their culture and to look after country. By looking after culture, KJ assists Martu to retain a strong Martu identity, social stability and resilience in facing the increasing social and development pressures. KJ actively works in the remote communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji to meet the aspirations of Martu.
We are seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated females with a sense of adventure for the role of Female Ranger Coordinator in both the Punmu and Parnngurr communities.
The role entails overseeing and coordinating the Communities Female Ranger Program. Ranger work in the communities includes looking after important cultural places, transferring knowledge to younger generations on country, undertaking landscape-scale fire management, threatened species management and feral animal control.
