ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced client centred youth worker for a part-time role for the Youth Residential Service. Please refer to the position description for hours available

ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS, YOU WILL:

  • Provide support and assistance with living skills, connections with the community, personal and social development, employment, education and training.
  • Assist young people to follow up actions from their case management plans including housing, income, education and training, health and wellbeing, general living skills and recreational activities.
  • Complete client file notes as needed and assist with administration duties for seamless operation of the program.
  • Foster a safe space, assist and motivate young people to be at their best day to day and to achieve their self-determined goals. ABOUT YOU

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or are you in your final year of a Social Work, Youth Work, or relevant Social Science related qualification
  • You have work experience in youth focused practice frameworks such as strengths based or trauma informed practice
  • You have experience or knowledge of crisis accommodation settings including but not limited to youth homelessness
  • You have sector knowledge or experience understanding of young people’s trauma with complex needs, including homelessness, family violence, alcohol, drugs and/or mental illness
  • You pride yourself on your ability to motivate and advocate for clients to achieve outcomes
  • Competent using the full suite of Microsoft applications
