Gosnells PCYC is seeking a passionate and committed person to join our team to support the delivery of our Institute of Training Leadership Course.

As a Registered training Organisation, PCYC offers young people in the community disengaged from the mainstream schooling the opportunity to reach their potential through our vocational education course.

We provide a wraparound support to the students and an environment in which they can thrive with an ultimate aim of providing them pathways into further training, employment or a return to school.

This role requires some administration experience, excellent communication and people skills and ideally experience in working with young people. You will assist with transportation, preparing meals and catering, supporting the students in completing their workbooks, enrolment, and registration requirements.

PCYC exists so that disadvantaged children and young people at risk across Western Australia have a safe place to go – somewhere they can feel at home, make friends and do things that children should do.We currently operate in 16 locations across WA, with 47 Blue Light Units in remote and rural areas where there is no PCYC Centre. Your next role:

The purpose of an Assistant Trainer is to carry out all the administrative and clerical duties to enrol students into a training course from Monday to Thursday. The Assistant Trainer also provides support to the Trainer and assists in providing standard or specialised teaching, technical training in a designated area. The Assistant Trainer can perform in a wide range of fields, depending on their educational background and experience.

You will work closely with the Trainer to:

  • Perform training administrative duties including printing of all student’s enrolment paperwork, following up and finalising any incomplete enrolment forms & education paperwork, scanning and filing of all student’s enrolment paperwork
  • Support the development of the Institute of Training Strategy ensuring initiatives plans and processes meet organisational requirements
  • Provide Support in administrative components of position, ensuring compliance with Australian Quality Framework
  • Assisting in the delivery of training sessions at a basic/administrative level
  • Provide support in designing and expanding training and development programs based on both the organisation’s and the individual's needs in liaison with the Institute of Training team.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of educational programs and learning resources
  • Assist in monitoring participants progress in line with course and Australian Quality Framework
  • Actively encourage youths, including those ‘at risk,’ to be involved in training programs
  • Assist in marketing PCYC training courses/programs to relevant agencies and services

About you:

  • Proven relevant experience in a Training Administrative role
  • Previously worked with young people and youth at risk (desirable)
  • Computer literate particularly in the use of Microsoft office
  • Experience of arranging and booking training events.
  • Excellent office practice (communication skills, written and verbal, concern for accuracy)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deliverables
  • Have or willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Card, National Police Clearance and Drivers Licence
