We are seeking a talented multi-tasker to join our Gosnells PCYC team!

The Centre Support Officer will complete the daily administration and financial tasks for the centre, and work with the Centre Manager to achieve the Business Plan and Budget goals.

With a friendly, can-do attitude you will also provide excellent customer service and community engagement to all visitors and queries.

Ideally you will have sales experience so you assist with driving new participants to our activities, as well an understanding of the day to day operations and needs of a busy community recreation centre.

In particular we are seeking a superstar who can help develop and implement recreational activities and build attendances and participation.

This isn’t just an office job, it is so much more! As an integral part of the team, you will be asked to muck in across all area’s, provide excellent customer service, handle administration and financial duties, and be innovative and creative brimming with programming idea’s.

This role can be flexible and suit either a part time or full time person.

Who We Are:

WA PCYC is an incredible organisation that changes the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people at risk in Western Australia.

We currently operate in 16 locations, with 10 regional and six metropolitan centres and numerous, Blue Light Youth Activities and Police Ranger Units across the state. Our organisation is unique through its partnership with the WA Police, and mission simple – to help all children and young people achieve their potential.

Position Profile:

This position’s function is to support the Centre Manager and improve the PCYC centre operations by ensuring all patrons receive the highest possible level of service. The position holder must possess and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and enjoy working in a service-orientated role.

The Centre Support Officer is responsible for sales (merchandise, membership and activity fees), cash handling/reconciliation, centre opening/closing procedures, stock control, answering telephone, program and activity bookings, assisting set-up/pull-down of equipment for activities, incidental cleaning and administration support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Centre Manager in staff and volunteer management to ensure compliance with standards and assist in the monitoring and reporting of training, performance and developmental needs of staff
  • In liaison with the Centre Manager, takes accountability and monitors the use of PCYC resources and assets
  • Assists to expand new venue hire opportunities or activities within the centre in line with budget and in consultation with the Centre Manager
  • Undertake financial management and analysis in conjunction with the Centre Manager
  • Assist in preparing, monitoring and reporting of budget (actual versus forecast, and variances) to Head Office in conjunction with the Centre Manager
  • Effectively manage inwards/outwards correspondence
  • Provide administrative support to centre management
  • Assist the supervisor in identifying suitable paid / volunteer staff to become involved in delivery of programs
  • Customer service, specifically providing detailed advice and information on the centre’s products and services; responding to patron, customer and supplier queries and problems in a timely manner
  • Answer and guide enquiries regarding individuals and teams for centre activities and competitions

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Customer Service management including product sales, stock management and cash handling
  • Experience in Administration including medium to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working in a busy and demanding customer service environment
  • Experience supervising recreational activities, ensuring compliance with OHS regulations
  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Check and Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Qualification (at least to Certificate III) and/or experience in youth work, community development / welfare, human services or related discipline
  • Experience or knowledge within the sports and recreational related industry
  • Current Senior First Aid & / or CPR certificate
