<h3>About the role:</h3>
<p>This is a<strong> 10-month part time fixed term contract </strong>position with a start date of <strong>2 December 2024</strong>. The HSU is excited to recruit a payroll officer to Support the union with the management of the payroll function which is the largest cost outlay for the entity. Please note that this position is an in-office role.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Weekly payroll processing for all staff</li>
<li>Data entry of payroll transactions into the general ledger and associated spreadsheets</li>
<li>Reconciliation of ADO, annual, FACS, sick, long service leave applications and follow up outstanding</li>
<li>Processing of staff timesheets and follow up outstanding</li>
<li>PAYG paid to the ATO weekly</li>
<li>End of month and end of year payroll reporting and monthly/yearly system rollovers</li>
<li>Monthly payroll tax calculations and yearly reconciliation for NSW &amp; ACT &amp; QLD</li>
<li>Weekly employee superannuation guarantee processing and payments and any other payroll deductions paid/received reconciled</li>
<li>Terminated and new employee payroll processing</li>
<li>Annual SASS salaries updated with State Super</li>
<li>Employee payment summaries processing and process files to ATO</li>
<li>Ensure employee personnel files are maintained and updated</li>
<li>Liaise with management and staff regarding payroll queries</li>
<li>Assist with the administration of the employee portal ConnX system</li>
<li>Assist with workers compensation claim reconciliations</li>
<li>Liaise with auditors as required</li>
<li>Maintain adherence with all internal and external policies and procedures</li>
<li>Other ad hoc duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Essential Skills and Experience:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience in payroll processing and reporting</li>
<li>Experience in general ledger data entry</li>
<li>Deadline oriented and results focused</li>
<li>Excellent communication and customer service skills and the demonstrated ability to apply initiative and to problem solve</li>
<li>Self-motivated with a positive work ethic and a commitment to excellence</li>
<li>Excellent organisational skills and time management</li>
<li>Ability to organise, prioritise and perform multiple tasks concurrently</li>
<li>Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, under minimal supervision</li>
<li>Excellent knowledge and high proficiency with current office technology and equipment including computer packages such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)</li>
<li>Ability to work as a team member</li>
<li>At least 5 years&rsquo; experience working within a similar role</li>
</ul>
<h3>Desirable</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience in ConnX Human Resources Portal</li>
</ul>
<h3>Remuneration:</h3>
<ul>
<li>$99,890 (Pro-rata) per annum + 11.5% (12% for females) Employee Superannuation Contributions</li>
