As a workshop facilitator, you will be delivering our antiracism and allyship workshops to organisations and community groups, virtually via webinar and face to face. Our workshops use a combination of hands-on activities and facilitated conversations to develop understandings about racism and its impact on people of colour. • Have experience facilitating anti oppression conversations with people of colour & allies

  • Critical understanding of racism and colonialism in an Australian context

  • Excellent and adaptable people skills

  • Desire to work with people with varied levels of understanding of systemic racism and willingness to meet people where they’re at (within the bounds of safety for you)

  • Lived experience of racism

  • Demonstrated commitment to First Nations justice

Desirable qualities:

  • Experience with online facilitation and tools like Zoom and Google Slides

  • Strong intersectional lens

  • Access to a car and drivers license

  • Relationships and knowledge of community contexts (e.g cultural protocols, issues important to the community, social and healing practices/events, etc)

Remuneration:

  • Salary package of $75,000 per annum + 10% super

    • Position is 15 hours: approximately 0.4 FTE or 40% of $75,000

  • Sick leave, annual leave, gender affirmation leave, cultural leave, DV & FV leave and flexible working arrangements.

  • Access to Liberate App, a black meditation and wellbeing app for people of colour

  • Access to equipment to work remotely where necessary

  • We provide flexible work arrangements for different accessibility needs

  • Personal and professional development - we’ll provide extensive access to training, mentoring to invest in your growth

Extra Benefits

  • Working in a team entirely of people of colour

  • A balanced workload that factors in the mental and emotional labour of sharing your lived experience and working in the anti racism space

  • Team cultural debriefing wellbeing sessions with psychologists and healing practitioners

  • Being part of a team all committed to continuing their learning and understanding

  • Opportunity to shape and develop content or programs related to your particular lived experience

We value lived experience of First Nations people and people of colour over professional experience so if you meet some but not all of the selection criteria we encourage you to still apply.
