Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Accreditation Program Advisor to join our team in Queensland. This part-time role (3 days per week) offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in growing our national accreditation program, with a preference for candidates based in Brisbane.

As the Accreditation Program Advisor, you will manage the administrative functions of the ECA accreditation program, supporting businesses through every stage of the accreditation cycle.

This includes providing information to prospective businesses, assisting with applications and renewals, and ensuring all relevant forms and documentation are accurate and complete.

You will work closely with our compliance team during audits, facilitate site visits, and maintain up-to-date records and communications. 

Additionally, you will play a key role in promoting the correct use of the ECA trademark and removing non-compliant businesses from our platforms.

In this role, you'll build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and brands across Queensland's textile, clothing, and footwear (TCF) industry.

You will identify and approach new businesses that align with our program and support them through accreditation, ensuring workers' rights in the TCF industry are protected. 

Who is Ethical Clothing Australia?

Ethical Clothing Australia is a not-for-profit accreditation body that collaborates with local textile, clothing, and footwear (TCF) businesses to protect Australian workers' human and labour rights. Our accreditation program ensures that workers, including vulnerable outworkers, are employed under safe conditions and receive fair pay and legal entitlements. By conducting compliance audits, we map a business's Australian supply chain from design to dispatch, ensuring transparency and ethical practices. 

Businesses that meet our stringent standards can display the Ethical Clothing Australia trademark on their products, allowing consumers to easily identify and support ethical, locally made goods. Our program is a joint initiative governed by an independent committee representing the union, employer organisations, and business representatives.

What will the Accreditation Program Advisor do?

• Administrative Management: Oversee the detailed administrative functions of the ECA accreditation program, including managing applications, renewals, and communications with accredited businesses.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with manufacturers, brands, and value-adders within the TCF industry, particularly in Queensland, to promote and grow the ECA program.
• Compliance Support: Collaborate closely with the compliance team during audits to ensure consistency and accuracy in the accreditation process.
• Trademark Management: Ensure correct use of the ECA trademark and manage the removal of non-compliant businesses from our communications and platforms.
• Growth Strategy: Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of our growth strategy, focusing on increasing the number of accredited businesses.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Previous experience in a customer-focused role, with the ability to communicate effectively and support program growth.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including businesses, unions, and government agencies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of programmatic work and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.
• Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel) and experience with CRM platforms and information management systems.
• A commitment to the values and objectives of Ethical Clothing Australia.
• Ability to work positively within a small, dedicated team and contribute to overarching organisational goals.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the textile, clothing, or footwear industry.
• Experience working with unions.
• Experience in cross-cultural contexts.
• Skills in languages other than English.
• A valid driver's license.
