Hobart Women’s Shelter (HWS) is the second oldest women’s and children’s refuge in Australia. We provide crisis accommodation to women and children, transitional housing to families and Therapeutic Programs for families who are homeless and / or who are experiencing domestic and / or family violence. Hobart Women’s Shelter empowers individuals and families to lead independent and fulfilling lives. We envisage all individuals and families being able to live in a community free from violence and injustice, where diversity is celebrated, and where individuals and families are supported to achieve their goals.

The Hobart Women's Shelter is seeking to appoint an Accommodation Support Worker to work independently and provide client support to undertake caretaking of the Hobart Women’s Shelter Facility. There is an administrative element to the role which includes written handover notes and utilisation of SHIP (client information system).

Shifts can be lone worker and include morning, afternoon, sleepover shifts. These hours can extend across both weekdays and weekends/public holidays.

Working as a team remains important as each worker is responsible for ensuring that they hand over to the next shift. The Accommodation Support Worker where needed, can seek clarification from the rostered On-Call worker for non-routine matters while on shift.
