    Part-time: 3 days a week (22.8 hours/week, with potential to extend)

    Location: Brisbane (flexible)

    The ICIN Events Coordinator (0.6 part-time) will support logistics for two major national events hosted by ICIN:

    1. The North Australian Savanna Fire Forum will be held in Darwin and online from 21-23 Feb 2023. It will attract Indigenous fire managers from across north Australia, including Cape York, Top End and the Kimberley; as well as scientists and government representatives, and provide a space to share knowledge and experience in savanna fire management. Expected attendance: 300 people
    2. The National Indigenous Carbon Forum will be held in southern Queensland and online in April 2023 (TBC). It will attract Indigenous land and sea managers, corporates, and government representatives from across Australia to talk about issues impacting the Indigenous carbon industry and barriers to participation of Indigenous groups in the carbon industry. Expected attendance of up to 500 people

    Note that this is an Identified position available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.

    Key Responsibilities

    The key responsibilities of the Events Coordinator include:

    1. Coordinating the Event Working Group and Programming Committee as Secretariat for the two events, including notetaking, organising and facilitating meetings.
    2. Organising logistics for the two events; including catering, venue, AV support, speakers, ticketing.
    3. Project management including sponsorship, budget management, managing logistics team and ensure event plan is delivered to a tight timeframe.
    4. Liaising with ICIN team, members, Programming Committee and partners to program the event in line with the events purpose and plan as well as the objectives of the ICIN.
    5. Work with the Communications Manager to organise media management, promotion, reporting and evaluation of the two events.
    6. Booking travel, venues and other logistical support for workshops as needed.

    Selection Criteria

    Essential

    1. Experience in managing logistics of large events.
    2. Experience in coordinating a team of volunteers, partners and staff to deliver events.
    3. Ability to manage projects to deadline and to manage the project budget.
    4. Demonstrated ability to be highly organised and manage multiple competing demands at once.
    5. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including reporting and social media.
    6. Ability to work independently and remotely with a small team
    7. Support for the values and purpose of the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network.

    Desirable

    1. Experience in sponsor management.
    2. Experience using the Eventbrite app platform.
    3. Interest in Indigenous land and sea management.

    You will join a small team working across Australia to support services to our members, including over 20 Indigenous organisations that own or directly produce carbon credits, as well as to provide information and updates to Indigenous organisations across Australia with an interest in the carbon industry.

    You will be supported to work either from phone or through an office in Brisbane or Darwin, with provision of a laptop computer and phone.

    Some interstate travel will be required.

    Remuneration:  Your salary shall be based pro-rata on a 0.6 equivalent annual salary of $80,000.00, or $40.49 per hour. 

    Superannuation is 10.5%.

    Hours of work and leave: Hours of work are capped at an annual average of 22.8 hours per week (FTE).

    Annual leave is 6 weeks per annum at 0.6 pro-rata.

    This position reports to the CEO, ICIN.
