Independent Community Living Australia (ICLA) is a not-for-profit community organisation delivering personalised support to people with psychosocial, intellectual and other disabilities as well as those seeking support at difficult times in their life. We manage a number of supported residential and mental health support services across the greater Sydney region, promoting people’s independence, active participation and inclusion in the community. About the Role

The Head of People and Culture will oversee and manage end-to-end employee life-cycle processes and ensure that our 130 employees are supported and well equipped to deliver high quality services. You will actively promote a culture of accountability, while ensuring systems, processes, policies and learning are consistent with our values and deliver on our strategic objectives. Reporting to the CEO, this role is part of our Executive Management team, and manages the People & Culture Team of two direct reports. Full time & Part time applicants will be considered, as well as flexible working practices. Remuneration is $135-140,000 base + super + salary packaging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining continuous improvement of the employee experience, from on-boarding & induction through to off-boarding, developing and implementing strategies & systems to support employee wellbeing and retention.
  • Developing and maintaining workforce strategy and planning, including recruitment, retention, learning & employee experience.
  • Promoting a learning culture across the organisation, identifying & facilitating training & development programs to meet current & future skills requirements
  • Overseeing & improving annual performance & professional development reviews processes
  • Actively engaging with ICLA staff and people we support to foster a positive culture
  • Overseeing the WHS function of the organisation, including worker’s compensation and return to work functions
  • Maintaining knowledge of current HR practices, legislation and ensure ICLA policy and procedure is aligned with legislative frameworks.
  • Overseeing ICLA’s HRIS systems and ensure appropriate management and maintenance of employee records.
  • Developing and implementing a culture program to reflect and reinforce ICLA culture and values

About You:

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resource Management
  • Proven Generalist HR experience, including recruitment, learning, workforce planning, industrial relations & employee relations
  • Demonstrated experience in HR strategy, engagement, cultural alignment & change management
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership skills & management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of Work Health and Safety & expert Risk Management skills
  • Demonstrated experience delivering HRIS, LMS & other HRM platforms to enhance the employee experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, as well as discretion & sensitivity in dealing with sensitive or difficult information
  • Experience maintaining compliance with relevant guidelines, policy or framework
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Criminal Check & NDIS Worker Check

Desirable:

  • AHRI Professional membership
  • Working knowledge of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
  • Experience developing leadership capabilities
  • Gallup Strengths Coach certification or similar
  • Relevant WHS qualifications e.g. RTW Coordination
