The Opportunity

The IFS Caseworker position provides case management, outreach support and group programs to vulnerable families to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people by addressing protective concerns and enhancing family functioning.

The IFS Caseworker role will suit professionals with experience and interest in the Family Services sector with a commitment to working with a child focussed, family centred approach. Knowledge and experience of working within the Best Interests Framework, plus knowledge of attachment and trauma would be an advantage.

The position is part of the Integrated Family Services Team and is based primarily at our Ashburton office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case planning, management and support with families.
  • Work within a child-focussed, family-centred approach to service delivery.
  • Utilise outreach strategies to engage families who may be reluctant to use the service
  • Develop realistic and achievable action plans with families
  • File management
  • Networking with internal and external stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related discipline
  • Experience working with vulnerable families.
  • Demonstrated skills in risk assessment and understanding of the Best Interests Case Practice Framework
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to be self-directed
