The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is seeking an experienced and passionate Digital Content Producer. This position is a remote work-based role and candidates may be located in Australia or the Asia Pacific region.

Working alongside the media/communications team, you will develop creative ways of communicating and promoting our research to national and global stakeholders using digital technologies such as audio, video and publishing tools, website, webinars, social media, and other channels.  While helping to build IEEFA’s cross-platform presence, you will improve the quality, frequency, and vibrancy of IEEFA’s digital content.

As Digital Content Producer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our digital content strategy to amplify our online presence and build strong communities through our various platforms. You will create digital content that is designed to engage users and create an interactive relationship between existing and new audiences, our analysts, and our organisation. The role includes monitoring and measuring the success of our online presence and identifying and reporting on trends to internal stakeholders with recommendations on potential opportunities or risks. The successful candidate will be required to collect and review data to develop more effective campaigns. You must possess a commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable energy economy.

IEEFA is a rapidly-growing NGO/nonprofit think tank that conducts independent public interest research and analysis on financial and economic issues related to energy markets, trends and policies.  Headquartered in the United States, IEEFA has teams of analysts and communications personnel located across the globe, with a significant portion of our staff in the greater Asia Pacific region. The Digital Content Producer will work alongside our dynamic, Australia-based communications team and collaboratively with the Digital Communications Specialist Manager in the U.S.

IEEFA produces a significant volume of original written research on issues affecting the energy and finance industries. Our research reports, commentaries, press coverage and other resources can be found on our public domain website: www.ieefa.org.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research current digital content trends, technologies and audience preferences across the Asia Pacific region including Australia, India, and Africa and create content that meets audience needs
  • Produce and disseminate digital content which amplifies our research and brand.
  • Produce webinars, videos and podcasts with our research analysts and industry partners to promote research findings.
  • Follow and engage with strategic partners and influencers, including news media, and ensure a consistent look, feel, and tone for social media and digital content.
  • Monitor IEEFA Asia Pacific’s social media accounts and offer constructive interaction between external users and IEEFA analysts.
  • Co-develop monthly reports on emerging social media trends and audience engagement.
  • Analyse the long-term needs of IEEFA Asia Pacific’s digital content strategy and offer quarterly reports that outline any necessary changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary education in journalism, communications, public relations, media relations or another related field AND/OR 3+ years’ experience as a digital content producer or similar role
  • Strong video and audio recording, editing and production skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a flair for summarising long, complex stories into engaging and concise copy suitable for online audiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms including advertising practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of webinar and podcast production
  • Proficiency with design and publishing tools including Canva, Typito, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with good political judgment.

  • You have a strong interest in current affairs in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in the energy and finance sectors.
  • You can design and deliver creative, engaging content (text, image, audio, and video).
  • You have carried out audience research and are skilled at extracting, interpreting, and clearly presenting analytics.
  • You are very self-motivated, able to work independently, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines with limited direction while working remotely.
  • You are team-oriented with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Term and Schedule: Full time initial 12 month contract with the option of extension by mutual agreement.  Renumeration based on experience.
