We are an Indigenous-operated charity and social enterprise whose purpose is to contribute to ending the cycle of poverty and disadvantage by building capacity and fostering self-sufficiency through the employment of Indigenous people. We provide specialist employment, recruitment, and training services that are culturally appropriate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and the organisations who employ them.

The Role

This is a newly established role that will have key deliverables in establishing and promoting culturally safe & competent workplaces, supporting current & future Indigenous Australian employment, retention, and development outcomes, whilst providing guidance, advice, and support to our corporate clients.

This role reports to the Group CEO and will work closely with other leaders across the business, Indigenous Employment, and Procurement working groups as well as a variety of external stakeholders.

This role will be based in our newly created Sydney office and will be responsible for helping grow our footprint in NSW.

This role will be a full wrap around role supporting and developing our corporate clients develop and implementation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People & Culture strategy, spanning employment, procurement, cultural safety, and community engagement initiatives across their operations.

You will also be responsible for the recruitment of temporary and permanent roles and supporting Job seekers for 26 weeks after employment across a variety of our clients.

This role will suit someone who has worked in a busy service-oriented company managing people, customers, and building teams.

About You

In your previous roles, you will have had responsibility for hiring and managing staff within a professional recruitment environment.

  • Demonstrated experience establishing a pipeline of potential employers
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching employees and leaders
  • Strong recruitment and sales experience
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of diverse stakeholders at all levels

Knowledge / Skills

  • Sound knowledge of NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community
  • Sound knowledge of NSW labour market requirements

An understanding of the barriers to employment encountered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is essential to this role.

This is a busy, deadline-driven environment requiring people who can work without supervision and thrive on working at pace and being super organised.
