About the Shift! Startup Challenge

A new initiative of Impact X, SHIFT! is an ambitious discovery platform for impact technologies. Seeking solutions to systemic global problems, the SHIFT! startup challenge will call for founders and innovators to pitch their impact technologies to investors and impact experts in cities around the world. Taking a deeper approach to local ecosystem building, the challenge will be conducted across 8 Asia Pacific cities to launch in 2021, with new cities to be added annually in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Finalists will be funded to compete globally at Impact X Summits in Australia, China, Europe and the USA.

About the Ecosystem Manager role

The Ecosystem Manager for the SHIFT! Startup Challenge will be responsible for the development and activation of the SHIFT! city hub partners and ecosystem members, for driving local startup participation and delivering the challenge across multiple cities. The ecosystem members will include universities, business schools, incubators, investor networks, government agencies, media and non-profit organisations.

Responsibilities

Establish partnerships to jointly develop a local ecosystem specific to impact technologies that can improve lives and restore the planet. Six focus areas include: Food Systems; Energy & Carbon; Inclusive Finance; Resilient Cities; Improved Health and Circular Economy.

  • Organise the SHIFT! startup challenge in collaboration with ecosystem partners, discover emerging impact technology startups and connect them to Impact X, where further support for funding, mentoring and partnerships to scale can be activated
  • Ongoing ecosystem development and community engagement to promote the need for and benefits of impact technologies towards accelerating local, national and global development
  • Expand the SHIFT! global network through ecosystem research and development

About you

We are looking for a person who is highly motivated to drive positive change, who works well in a fast-paced, startup environment, and can collaborate well with a team and network of partners to deliver results.

The role requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience, and an understanding of the startup, impact and venture landscape in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

The candidate will be highly detail-oriented and skilled in project management and stakeholder engagement to ensure tangible outcomes.
