About Us

Inner West Community Foundation, trading as Local Impact is a not-for-profit, community association.

The key purpose of the Foundation is to develop and support programs, projects and social enterprises to help connect, support and sustain the communities of Melbourne’s Inner West.

There are a number of programs and projects delivered by IWCF:

  • Inner West Community Bike Hub
  • The Westsider Newspaper
  • Money Mentor Program

About the role

We are looking for an experienced social media content developer who has a can-do attitude and thrives on variety. You will work within a small supportive and dynamic team in Yarraville, with a friendly office environment.

The role is 2 days per week. Hours can be flexible to suit individual needs (e.g. between school hours) and will require some evening and weekend work.

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Social media content planning, development and execution across all channels
  • Sourcing and creating social media content for all our programs collaborating with Program managers and other content creators
  • Produce copy and graphics that aligns with our brand voice and engages our community
  • Manage social media content plans and processes
  • Report on social media analytics to measure performance.
  • Engage with customers on all social platforms including comment sections
  • Brand guardianship

Experience and attributes

  • Well organised with excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task between projects and meet deadlines
  • Innovative and a willingness to think ‘outside the box’
  • Proficient using Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Capcut and video editing software
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts
  • Demonstrated experience creating engaging social content
  • Experience working in social enterprise or non-profit space an advantage
  • Photography and video experience
  • Boast a minimum of 2+ years in content development
  • Possess basic copywriting skills for crafting social and email communications.
  • Contribute creatively to concept development and promotions.
  • Thrive in a flexible, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
