about The opportunity 

We are looking for a passionate Team Leader to join our independent living options (ILO) team, based in our Morley Office. The ILO team supports customers who have complex needs due to psychosocial disability, behaviours of concern, justice interface and/or require 24 hour supports. This role is crucial to ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and quality supports to these customers through coaching and mentoring of team members.

  • Upholding Interchange's Mission, Vision and Values, including acting in accordance with the standards of behaviour outlined in the Interchange Code of Conduct
  • Supervision of staff, including coaching and mentoring to ensure team members are skilled to deliver supports aligned with NDIS goals and customer outcomes
  • Design Service Plans
  • Promoting quality and safeguarding
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adopting a team approach to ensure the continuity of support and provision of high-quality service
  • Actively share expertise and experiences with team members

To join the Interchange Team, you need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in human services or equivalent, and substantial experience managing teams that deliver services to people with complex needs
  • Significant experience NDIS plan utilisation and funding arrangements
  • Excellent supervision skills with an ability to work in, lead, coach and motivate a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with people with disability, colleagues, and members of the community
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of organisation policies and procedure and all relevant government legislation and standards
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with an ability to actively seek creative solutions to overcome problems
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Current WA 'C' class driver's license (not restricted to automatic gearbox), and capacity to travel as needed within the Greater Perth Metropolitan area
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • A commitment to own professional development
  • Capacity to meet the inherent physical requirements of the position

In addition to the above, we would ideally like you to have:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Team Leader/Supervisor in Human Services, managing teams that work with customers that require various types of high-level support
  • Experience in case management in the mental health, disability, or human services field
