ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Case Worker for the specialised family violence program located in Coffs Harbour.

This position is an exciting opportunity to assist clinicians and families in understanding and managing situations where there is family violence.

This role will provide clients with appropriate and timely support to access services by effectively engaging, screening, assessing, and referring whilst ensuring the overall delivery and quality management of the Specialised Family Violence Program.

This role will:

  • Facilitate the promotion of Interrelate's Services within the community
  • Be well-informed about other relevant and appropriate community services in the area to facilitate effective referrals
  • Adhere to appropriate work practices to protect the confidentiality of clients
  • Participate in program and service evaluations

Along with a tertiary qualification in behavioural or social science, social work or equivalent, we are looking for strong capabilities in understanding and experience in working with individuals and families dealing with family violence, Conflict Management, Interpersonal Skills and Ethics.

This is a 6 permanent part time role. 2-3 days per week (15 - 22.5 hours per week), and the hours are negotiable.

This position will be based in Coffs Harbour and travel within the region may be required from time to time.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline
  2. Demonstrated experience in therapeutic work with families and children, along with knowledge of child development, child protection and family violence issues
  3. Ability to liaise with the community and build local networks including Domestic Violence and Family Support Services
  4. Demonstrated experience in case management with families along with skills in risk assessment and safety planning
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
