Our client, a successful Not for Profit, have initiated significant review and reform over the last four years and have cultivated a unique environment delivering services to many of their clients. This is driven by a shared desire to achieve the best outcomes they can for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage.

As a Family Case Manager you will provide support to a single adult, parent and child victim-survivors who are homeless and/or at risk of homelessness because of family violence. The purpose of the role is to assist victim-survivors and support them in a program to maximise their ability to live independently and free from abuse. The four pillars of support are:

  1. Information, advocacy, and referral
  2. Brief engagement and intervention
  3. Case Management
  4. Accommodation and support

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide high quality risk assessments to support adult and child victim-survivors who are affected by family violence
  • Assess certain situations and safety requirements through informed confidential discussions
  • Determine case plans as per the client's needs
  • Regularly monitor the needs of people supported by the program and ensure service provision is appropriately provided
  • Understand and maintain relationships with various local community agencies as well as crisis accommodation
  • Ensure all administrative functions are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work undertaken within the areas of accountability complies

As a Family Case Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum degree level qualification in social work or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues to homelessness and homelessness services
  • Proven knowledge of issues relating to family violence, including knowledge of feminist framework regarding gendered violence
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of case management frameworks and principles
  • Demonstrated experience working with adult and child victim-survivors who may also present with complex needs
  • MARAM Comprehensive Family Violence Specialist Training (Desirable)

You must have proven experience in the above role, and you will also have to exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills as well the ability to build rapport and work well in a team. Sensitivity and the ability deal with complex situations is crucial to this role as well as being able to display resilience and have the capability to juggle multiple confidential cases.

This role is to start ASAP for a 8-12 week temp assignment. The role is based in Bayside and Kingston LGA's, and it is crucial that you hold an Australian Drivers Licence. The role is to work 4 days a week from 9am to 5pm, there is flexibility around what days you can work but you would be required to work a Monday and a Friday. The hourly rate for the role is $53.68 + super per hour.
