The Role

The Program Manager supports partners identify and meet organisational strengthening needs; develops, monitors and reports on annual work plans and budgets in line with IWDA financial procedures and donor requirements; and supports the advocacy and movement building work of IWDA and the We Rise Coalition.

The We Rise Coalition is made up of seven feminist organisations from within the Pacific region who implement the We Rise 3 program: femLINKpacific; Fiji Women’s Rights Movement; Brown Girl Woke (Samoa); Talitha Project (Tonga); Sista (Vanuatu); Voice for Change (Jiwaka, PNG ) and IWDA.

This position sits within the Pacific Team in the Systemic Change & Partnerships Team and reports to the Senior Program Manager, Pacific.

The Candidate

IWDA is looking for an experienced grants program manager who wants to develop their career within a feminist organisation. You will have:

Essential

  1. Minimum five years’ experience managing grants for international or local programs in an NGO setting
  2. Strong understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues (in the international context - Pacific region preferred)
  3. Experience building and supporting successful long-term partnerships (networks, alliances, or coalitions) working with diverse stakeholder groups including by distance
  4. Demonstrated experience with monitoring, evaluation and learning in feminist programs, including feminist partnerships and advocacy
  5. Initiative and ability to respond effectively to challenges with the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  6. Familiarity with financial management including budget negotiations, planning, forecasting and variance reporting

Desirable

  1. Experience working in the Pacific, and or with Pacific women’s rights organisations/activists
  2. A tertiary degree in international development or a related field (or working towards a degree)

Offered as a full-time, fixed term contract until November 2023, the annual salary is a SCHADS 6
