We are now seeking a suitably experienced and qualified AccessAbility Advisor to join our dynamic team in the Learning, Teaching and Student Engagement Directorate. The position is part-time (18.125 hours per week), fixed-term to September 2023 and based at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus. Remuneration is HEWL 8: $51.35 - $58.96 per hour ($97,118 - $111,524 p.a. FTE) plus superannuation.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE

As an experienced professional, you will provide a comprehensive range of services to meet the identified requirements of prospective and current students with disabilities and health conditions, including the development and delivery of individual disability counselling, skills development, task analysis, task adaptation and task modification. You will also provide high-level advice and training to staff and students, and engage with external service providers to ensure students are adequately supported in their learning journey.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Degree qualified in a relevant field, preferably occupational therapy, psychology, social work, rehabilitation or education with relevant professional registration as required, you’ll be experienced in assessing, determining, developing and evaluating reasonable adjustment for people with a range of disabilities and health conditions in the context of education and within federal and state legislation. It is also a requirement of this position to hold a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card.
