What we do

Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of community services for the Victorian Jewish community. Services include social justice programs for vulnerable people (such as supports in areas including mental health, financial hardship, employment, family violence and homelessness), supports for people living with a disability, Residential Aged Care, In-Home care and a Holocaust Survivors Program.

The role

We raise funds to enable vital services to be provided to the Jewish community through a range of social justice programs and to ensure future growth of Jewish Care.

This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to come and join the Jewish Care Community team as our Head of Fundraising. Your expertise in community fundraising is essential in leading the delivery of inspiring campaigns to drive awareness, engagement and donations. Your ability to connect with others is core to your success, as you will take people on a journey from understanding our impact through to donating. As a strong people leader, your ability to motivate and lead your team while contributing to and promoting a positive, happy, energetic and productive workplace will contribute to your success in the role.

What you will do

  • Lead the delivery of all Jewish Care fundraising activities Inspire, motivate and lead staff in the Fundraising team to ensure high performance
  • Support the General Manager in developing and managing the strategy to retain, uplift and acquire donors
  • Oversee the management of Jewish Care’s donor database
  • Set, monitor and achieve the delivery of key performance indicators including financial projections
  • Provide regular financial reporting

What you will bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading fundraising activities at a manager level including appeals, bequests, capital, and general marketing and events
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical approach and project management skills
  • Strong communication and copywriting skills with demonstrated ability to successfully deliver appeal campaigns and grant applications
  • High level of computer literacy with Raiser’s Edge (Blackbaud CRM) and Microsoft Office
  • Degree in commerce, business, marketing, law or similar
