Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Services include Aged Residential Care, Community Aged Care, Holocaust Survivors Programs, Disability, Individual and Family Support including housing, employment, financial counselling, interest free loans, youth mentoring and case coordination..

About the opportunity

Jewish Care’s Front Door service provides a single point of contact for all new clients seeking access to or information about our services. The Information and Access Team Worker provides a first point of contact and entry through the Front Door for all clients seeking Jewish care services. It involves undertaking an initial needs identification assessment and ensuring that all client enquiries are directed to the appropriate service in an efficient and effective manner.

Some of the activities of this role will include;

  • Undertaking initial needs identification assessments to ensure clients are linked with the appropriate services provided by Jewish Care;
  • Provide a simple triage of the client in accordance with prioritisation of needs;
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive service information for both internal Jewish Care programs and external services regarding access to services;
  • Facilitate streamlined referral pathways to specialist services as appropriate;
  • Ensure a client-centred culture within service delivery;

What you need

To ensure your best chance of success, you will require;

  • Relevant health or community sector qualifications (Diploma level and above) and/or minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Broad knowledge of community support services and the community health sector
  • Professional and empathic telephone manner
  • High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to set priorities within the context of competing demands
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite, email and internet applications
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination and booster shot or medical exemption
