About the role

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated individual to join as the Youth Mentoring Coordinator for the Individual & Family Support team to develop, implement, and coordinate the Youth Aspire program.

This position is part time for two days a week, and based at our St Kilda Road office although most activities are held in Community. We are looking for a skilled individual who understands the benefits of and values mentoring for young people, particular for those experiencing disadvantage.

Aspects of the role might include:

  • Coordinate the Young Aspire program, workshops and meetings
  • Recruit, train and provide supervision coaching and support to volunteer mentors.
  • Work in collaboration with the Youth Mentoring Coordinator (Young Achievers Program) and Service Coordination team as required
  • Contribute to development of program budgets, donor engagement reporting
  • Participate in Jewish Care quality improvement plans

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Passion for working with young people including those who have experienced some disadvantage
  • Tertiary qualifications in youth services or other relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of appropriate mentoring and coaching frameworks
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of youth development initiatives
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and great problem-solving skills
