Position Overview

  • Lead the development of practical program and training resources ready for the roll out of an innovative employment program for people leaving prison.
  • Seven month project, 3 days per week at a values-driven organisation.

About VACRO

VACRO is an independent non-profit organisation working with people caught in the criminal justice system and their families. Founded in 1872, we are Victoria’s oldest and only specialised criminal justice reintegration service. We provide reintegration, family, and employment support that enables people to create new beginnings for themselves and their families.

The Opportunity

Using your employment and training expertise, you will help take an innovative jobs program for prison leavers from final concept to implementation. You will produce and execute a project plan to develop program manuals and training modules, build a data collection system and map employer stakeholders. Your ability to translate program concepts and stakeholder needs into practical processes and resources will result in effective project outcomes. VACRO is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a passion for developing employability skills that lead to job success, working collaboratively with stakeholders and producing high quality written resources that work on the ground.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge of the employment service system and issues associated with clients who are socially disadvantaged.
  • Solid project management experience.
  • Ability to successfully translate program models into service implementation including data requirements.
  • Experience in designing and producing accessible training programs, manuals and resources.
  • Experience in writing and presenting reports.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Motivated to work in the non-profit sector.
