VACRO is a non-government, non-denominational organisation working with people in contact with the criminal justice system and their families. Founded in 1872 (as the Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society of Victoria), VACRO works closely with government and non-profit organisations.
VACRO is seeking a highly motivated professional to lead the implementation of the Family Visits Program in the two Victorian women’s prisons. This program aims to promote family connectedness, build and strengthen women’s engagement skills, and cultivate positive, pro-social relationships through digital video sessions. Your ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholders, document effective program work practices and processes as well as execute communication activities which promote program interest will ensure its successful uptake.
Initially, you will manage the Family Visits Support Workers who will deliver the program for Dame Phyllis Frost Centre and Tarrengower Prison but potential growth in our families area may see the management component expand. Bring your staff management expertise including supervision, mentoring and debriefing skills. You will possess a proven track record in quality service delivery to complex clients coupled with management acumen to build a valued program and team.
VACRO is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to staff wellbeing. We provide extensive on-boarding training and ongoing professional development for staff, amongst other benefits. This role is classified at Level 6 (pay point dependent on qualifications and experience) SCHADS 2010 Award.
