About the role

The Receptionist & Administration Officer is the face of our organisation. In this full time role you will be the first point of contact for all external visitors and callers as well as a frequent contact for our almost 300 staff nationwide. As well as receiving all visitors to our Richmond head office, both in person and over the phone, you will develop a sound knowledge of our people and programs across our multiple sites to ensure all calls and enquiries are handled efficiently and in a welcoming manner.

You will also take ownership of the general upkeep of the Richmond office, ensuring communal spaces are kept clean and tidy and that stationery, consumables, kitchen and janitorial supplies are well stocked.

You will be kept busy with a standard range of Reception duties as well as managing travel for the company, providing meeting room support, and contributing to the accounts payable and receivable functions.

Although the work required is full-time, part-time/job share arrangements will be considered for the right candidates.

Candidate Requirements

With relevant experience in a busy reception or other generalist administration role you are professional and mature with a welcoming presence.

You demonstrate patience, compassion and composure at all times. You are a problem solver, take initiative, with a can do attitude and a good sense of humour. Community Service Sector experience would be beneficial but is not mandatory.

You will be comfortable and confident in communicating with a broad range of stakeholders including staff at all levels, donors, and dignitaries such as government ministers, as well as our program participants - many of whom come from the most marginalised and disadvantaged sections of our community.

You will be hands on, with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to take on and embrace new tasks and processes as the role requires.
