The Opportunity:

The Domestic & Family Violence (Home Safety) Worker is an integral role that will work across two separately funded programs contributing to the safety of women and the protection of children providing services and information to women, children and young people who have or are, experiencing domestic violence in the Fleurieu region. Simultaneously, the role will oversee the 'Safe at Home' service and through referrals assist women and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence to remain safely in their home, through the coordination of upgrades to property security, safety planning and connecting women with additional support services as required.

You will be responsible for developing case plans, safety plans, and conducting risk assessments and providing intervention services that empower women, adhere to child protection statutes and honour individual and cultural diversity. Our ideal candidate will possess strong relationship building skills to engage with and strengthen interagency links. Similarly, your advocacy for improved referral pathways will reduce barriers for the people we work with to access services.

About You:

We are seeking a highly passionate person who:

  • Has demonstrated experience in supporting women, children and young people who have experienced domestic violence
  • Possesses sound communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with clients, staff and external agencies
  • Has an understanding of relevant statutory requirements and legislation relating to domestic and family violence
  • Holds a Diploma in Community Services or a Diploma in Child, Youth and Family Intervention Services or equivalent or substantial experience in the field

You Will Need To:
