The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Family Based Care team who work with families to assess their strengths and motivation to care to ensure that children and young people are supported to reach their full potential.

As the Intake and Assessment Worker, you undertake the intake and assessments of potential General Foster Carers and Specific Child Only Carers working from a therapeutic trauma-informed framework. The role will work closely with the Case Managers to provide caseload support for their carers and the children in their care as required. Your ability to readily build rapport and engage positively with the people we work with will serve you well in being able to respond to carers in crisis and provide trauma-informed interventions to address the presenting issue. You are tech-savvy and able to learn and review systems while being collaborative and solutions focused in your approach to problem-solving.

About You:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who:

  • Has an understanding of relevant statutory requirements and legislation for children under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive
  • Can demonstrate your experience and/or has a sound understanding of managing a caseload of clients
  • Has a sound understanding of case management principles together with previous experience in developing and overseeing case plans within an established case management model
  • Possesses strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Has an understanding of social justice principles – including equity of access, discrimination and equal opportunity, individuals rights and privacy
  • Can prioritise own workload and ensure that others too, meet their deadlines
  • Holds a Degree or tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services or relevant equivalent (or lesser qualification complemented by substantial relevant experience)

You Will Need To:
