About the role:
Financial Capability workers deliver financial literacy education, information and coaching and maintain a strong focus on supporting consumers to change their behaviour and 'learn by doing'. This includes basic financial literacy education and support either individually or in group settings.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Budgeting support to individuals.
- Non-accredited financial literacy community education workshops to clients and local groups.
- Helping clients to build skills to avoid or resolve financial difficulties and strengthen their capacity to manage their own money and to know where to get further help when required
- Assisting families at risk of homelessness to manage their finances and household expenses in order to prevent future accommodation crises.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to confidently prepare and facilitate workshops to individuals and small groups,
- Willingness and ability to travel remotely to other communities such as Balgo, Billiluna, Warmun etc. for outreach purposes. Overnight stays may be required.
Other Requirements:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in working across diverse communities including CALD, Indigenous and Rural communities.
- Current 'C' class driver's license.
- The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Records Check and a Working with Children Check.
Position is full time, (75 hours per fortnight) and remote travel is required.
