Role:

The Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the service delivers ongoing high quality of service to the community. Their coordination responsibilities extend over a variety of programs, in different fields of expertise, with services being delivered across the Shire of Halls Creek. They are expected to ensure that best practice standards are followed and that Jungarni-Jutiya Indigenous Corporation’s service delivery is consistent with relevant legislation and industry requirements.

The Services Coordinator is responsible for the day to day supervision of most programs in the organisation, as well as oversee the operation of the Halls Creek Community Resource Centre. They also have administrative roles in the organisation that support the objectives of the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Ensure Financial Counsellors access appropriate external Financial Counselling supervision
  • Conduct Performance Discussions and participate in Performance Management as appropriate
  • Manage staff training allocation and organisation, including conferences.
  • Provide leadership to staff members in service provision and operational matters
  • Supervise, support in training, and direct a team of service providers across multiple fields.
  • Conduct supervision sessions to assist with work performance, manage caseloads and identify opportunities for development.

Service Delivery, Planning and Quality Management

  • Provide written reports about service performance to the CEO and to meet funding requirements
  • As required, develop strategies to address challenges and identified areas for development.
  • Ensure staff operate within Policies and Procedures
  • Become familiar with and ensure data collection is being conducted appropriately for funding requirements and best practice standards
  • Lead and participate in organisation projects, including research, and seek opportunities to initiate and participate in new projects.
  • Maintain and contribute to in-service professional development activities.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate holistic quality case management care for clients.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on relevant industry information at a management level.

Program Planning

  • Conduct regular planning sessions with teams which will include:
    • Town servicing
    • Remote servicing
    • Identified areas for community development
  • Coordinate annual program planning days with approval from the CEO
  • Assist the Board and CEO with investigating future community-based services that may be required within the community
  • Work with the community and stakeholders to identify areas of unmet community need
  • Assist with or complete funding applications for ongoing funding or once of grants, as approved by the Board of Directors and the CEO.

Administration

  • To work with the CEO to coordinate HR File management as required
  • Assist with recruitment processes
  • Familiarise yourself with all Approved Documents on the Shared Drive and know how to access and utilise them correctly
  • To provide the CEO with written monthly program reports
  • Participate in fortnightly staff meetings
  • Participate in Weekly client review meetings with CEO

Partnership development

  • Maintain and develop relationships with other organisations in the community
  • Represent Jungarni-Jutiya Indigenous Corporation in the local region
  • Participate in local networking meetings, which may include presenting information about Jungarni-Jutiya services.
  • Actively participate in the coordination of client support with other services both in the community and those that provide remote servicing to Halls Creek.

Professionalism

  • Act as a resource for staff, clients and the wider community
  • Behave in a professional manner as a staff member and as a leader within the service, including effective and appropriate role modelling, appropriate following of confidentiality and privacy principles and appropriately following other legislative and policy requirements around client service delivery and duty of care around recruitment and management of staff.
  • Utilise time and resources effectively and efficiently

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Social Work, Social Sciences, Behavioural Sciences or Health related field or relevant experience in working in field.
  • Experience with managing, mentoring and developing staff members and teams
  • Clear and concise knowledge, understanding and experience of Aboriginal Culture
  • Demonstrated experience with case management or support of families and individuals with complex needs.
  • Be computer literate with experience using cloud based client management systems
  • Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously within a team environment
  • Current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupation Health, Safety and Disabilities Services principles and practice
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and lead an effective team of service providers, across various specialities, with the goal of positive client outcomes.
  • High-level organisational, time management and project management skills.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Financial Counselling, Capability and Resilience Hub experience
  • Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in working across diverse communities including CALD, Indigenous and Rural communities.
  • Well-developed research skills
  • Post Graduate diploma/degree in addiction studies or an equivalent
  • Certificate IV in work place training and assessment

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CLEARANCES

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
