ABOUT THE POSITION

The Marketing Manager is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. 

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the promotion and positioning of the Karakan brand and its services. The Marketing Manager will help build and maintain a strong and consistent brand and culture through a wide range of activities to customers, stakeholders and staff. These activities will be aligned to the business strategy. 

The Marketing Manager key responsibilities are:

  • Develop and successfully implement an aspirational marketing strategy which supports the success of the strategic plan 
  • Development, implementation, measurement and financial management of all marketing and communication strategies 
  • Manage customer insights, identifying core target customers and their habits, needs, and overall engagement to help drive service development and response
  • Support the management team to achieve strategic goals improving customer and staff experiences.
  • Support the wider team to be able to effectively promote Karakan and its services to key stakeholders ensuring alignment and commitment to achieving the overall business strategic goals.
  • Evolve and maintain an annual marketing budget planning that aligns with company strategy and objectives 
  • Promote and institute a continuous improvement culture and processes aligned with Karakan’s values, strategic and operational plans. 
  • Champion insight integration across the organisation to drive understanding and consideration to deliver a better customer experience
  • Oversee the development of a customer engagement framework, that will allow for better planning service design and outcomes for customers and Karakan 
  • Be the brand champion including driving rebranding activities and ensuring the brand guidelines are adhered to on the execution of collateral, digital assets, advertising etc
  • Evaluate the impact of Karakan’s brand assets including logo, images and signage
  • Consistently analyse market and evaluate the landscape to ensure in-depth understanding of the environment that will inform the strategic focus.
  • Lead research initiatives to better understand the market landscape and inform the brand strategy.

Compliance

  • Participate in Karakan’s planning and risk management processes.
  • Conduct marketing activities in line with NDIS guidelines.
  • Champion a safe and healthy work environment.

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Minimum of a tertiary qualification and/or five years’ experience managing marketing processes.
  • Experience in the marketing of services to people with mental health challenges and/or disability.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective and respectful working relationships within a community-based setting with a diverse range of people including customers, staff, managers and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in supporting strategic purpose.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse groups of people both verbally and in written form.
  • High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn and implement software applications.
  • Complete and maintain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, and other criminal history checks as deemed relevant for the position.
  • Completion of all other mandatory training as directed by Karakan, including NDIS Worker Orientation Module and adherence to the practices described therein.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s licence with P2 or Open Class.
  • Own reliable motor vehicle with insurance.
  • Experience in NDIS service provision would be highly regarded (desirable).
