Kevin Heinze Grow is a Melbourne-based charity, community services organisation and NDIS provider delivering programs to people with disabilities. We specialise in therapeutic horticulture and our services are based at our two garden centres in Doncaster and Coburg.

Kevin Heinze Grow has recently been successful in securing three years of funding from the Victorian Government as part of the FReeZA youth development program. KHG will recruit and support a small Committee of young people with a disability to coordinate the delivery of three events per year, including our Spring and Autumn Fairs. Events will be open to the community and will feature music and art, potentially featuring artists with a disability.

We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Coordinator – FReeZA for All Abilities.

Under supervision from the KHG Manager – Marketing & Fundraising, the Coordinator – FReeZA for All Abilities will recruit, assess, induct and support youth Committee members and work with them to plan and execute three (3) events per year (Committee members who require additional support to participate may attend with support workers).

This exciting role involves:

  • Event planning focus with strong organisational and project management skills;
  • Experience in working with young people with disabilities;
  • Driving a small committee of young people with various disabilities;
  • 6 hours per week. Preferably Thursdays 12pm - 6pm (negotiable);
  • 3 year part-time contract (until December 2024);
  • Working at least two Saturdays per year;
  • Based at KHG in Doncaster;
  • Commencement July 2022;
  • SCHADS Level 3 / Coordinator role, $64,299 - $68,962 pro rata;

Key Selection Criteria

  • Event or project management experience;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and/or mental health conditions;
  • Capacity to build effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated capacity to make timely and appropriate decisions;
  • Ability to successfully work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a complex work environment;
  • Capacity to provide effective training, mentoring and support to members of the FReeZA Committee;
  • Computer literacy.

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Disability or a related discipline.
