Opening in 1979 as the Kevin Heinze Garden Centre, we have four decades of experience behind us in the field of therapeutic horticulture. Our model uses the peaceful stress-free environment of a garden to support social, emotional, educational and vocational goals, enabling us to work holistically with people to meet their needs and achieve exceptional outcomes. This position is primarily responsible for the provision of speech therapy to people with a disability, as part of a team of multidisciplinary professionals delivering social, emotional, vocational and skills-based development and resilience training. The Speech Pathologist reports to the Manager - Programs and Clinical Services, and will be expected to use their skills and experience to encourage, support and extend KHG participants while contributing to the development of our service.
A key element of this role is the ability to work creatively within KHG's garden environment, incorporating our nature-based setting to deliver high-quality therapeutic outcomes.
Permanent part-time hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant between 10 and 30 hours per week.
Many clients will be participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
